Police in Hyderabad’s Goshamahal area have arrested three young men for their alleged involvement in illegal online betting activities, officials said on Friday.
According to police, the arrests were made on April 3, 2026, after receiving credible information about ongoing betting operations. The accused were reportedly using online platforms such as CricCode, Stake and Future Play to place and manage bets.
The three individuals have been identified as Anurag Ramawat (22), a student originally from Rajasthan and currently residing in Karmanghat; Dhawal Khatri (22), a businessman living in Gowliguda; and Krishna (21), a student from Puranapool.
During the operation, police seized multiple electronic devices believed to have been used in the betting activities, including two iPhones and an Oppo smartphone. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to identify possible links and wider networks.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior police officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Golconda zone and the Assistant Commissioner of Police of Goshamahal division, with support from local police staff.
Police officials issued a public warning, stating that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in online betting, including players, organizers, and promoters. They also urged parents to monitor their children’s online activities and educate them about the risks and legal consequences.
Authorities have appealed to the public to cooperate in reporting such unlawful activities as part of efforts to curb illegal betting in the city.
