Police carried out a late-night raid at a private gathering near Moinabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad, detaining 11 people on suspicion of drug consumption. The operation was conducted by the Telangana Police following information about a party where narcotic substances were allegedly being used.
Officials said the raid took place at a farmhouse in Moinabad in Telangana. During the operation, several individuals present at the party were taken into custody for questioning and medical tests were conducted to determine whether they had consumed drugs.
According to police sources, a former legislator from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Rohith Reddy, was among those questioned and reportedly tested positive for narcotic substances. Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine the source of the drugs and whether any larger network is involved.
Police officials stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating narcotics laws. The detained individuals are being questioned and legal proceedings will follow based on the investigation and test results.
The raid is part of intensified efforts by authorities in Telangana to crack down on drug use and illegal narcotics distribution in and around Hyderabad.
