A large scale cordon and search operation was carried out late on the night of February 16, 2026, within the limits of Tolichowki Police Station, covering Paramount Colony (Gates 1 to 4), IAS Colony, and Hakeempet Kunta. The action followed credible intelligence inputs about the illegal stay of foreign nationals in the area.
With the support of the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), police teams verified the identity and visa status of residents during the operation. As a result, 23 foreign nationals were found to be overstaying their visas and were apprehended for further legal proceedings under immigration laws.
During the operation, police also seized several items linked to illegal activities. These included 30 two wheelers without valid registration or ownership documents, nine gas cylinders three large and six small suspected to be used for illegal refilling, and 53 liquor bottles of 180 ml and 90 ml capacities that were being possessed or sold unlawfully.
Police officials said the operation was conducted to maintain law and order and to prevent activities connected with illegal residence and unregulated trade. Further verification of documents is underway, and cases will be registered against those found violating immigration and local laws.
Authorities stated that similar surprise checks and coordinated operations will continue in the future based on intelligence inputs to curb illegal stays and other unlawful activities in sensitive areas.
