The Commissioner’s Task Force, South East Zone, in coordination with Balapur and Afzalgunj police, has successfully busted an illegal manufacturing and supply network dealing in duplicate “Karachi Mehendi” cones. Two accused were apprehended during the operation.
Based on a tip off, simultaneous raids were conducted at Minar Colony, Balapur and SKS Travels & Cargo, Afzalgunj. The raids led to the arrest of Md Asif, identified as the manufacturer, and Deepak Kumar, the wholesaler and supplier. Investigations revealed that the accused were producing and distributing fake Karachi Mehendi cones to shops across Hyderabad and other cities, misleading consumers by passing off substandard products as genuine.
Seizures and Value
The task force seized:
- 8,400 duplicate Karachi Mehendi cones
- Manufacturing machinery, chemicals and packing materials
The total value of the seized items is estimated at ₹8 lakh.
The raids were conducted under the supervision of Inspector S. Saidababu, with active participation from Sub-Inspectors and staff of the SE Zone Task Force, Balapur, and Afzalgunj police. Officials confirmed that further investigations are underway to identify additional suppliers and sellers involved in the racket.
Authorities have urged consumers to verify the authenticity of Karachi Mehendi products and report any suspected spurious items to the police.
