In a swift breakthrough, the Chikkadpally Police on Friday apprehended two persons involved in a robbery case reported on October 31, 2025, successfully recovering stolen Gold Jewellery and other incriminating material.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Gudipati Bramaiah (51 years) Resident of Borabanda, Hyderabad the main accused.
- Gudipati Anjali @ Anjani (48 years) also of Borabanda who acted as the Receiver of the stolen property.
Details of the Case
According to police reports, the main accused, Bramaiah, snatched a gold chain from a 69 year old woman inside the lift of her apartment complex in Chikkadpally, injuring her in the process. The incident caused alarm among residents and was captured on CCTV, helping police trace the suspect.
Investigations revealed that Bramaiah, who was under severe financial stress, had learned chain snatching techniques through online videos. After the crime he took help from Anjali who mortgaged the stolen gold to raise money.
Recovered Property
During the operation, police recovered the following items:
- A broken gold chain with pearls weighing approximately 4.6 grams
- A mortgaged gold chain weighing 14.354 grams, retrieved from Manappuram Gold Finance
- One paper cutting blade used in the crime
- One OPPO mobile phone belonging to the accused
Swift Police Action and Supervision
The case was cracked within a week thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Central Zone police team, led by Smt. K. Shilpavalli, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone), under the supervision of Sri B. Anand Kumar, Addl. DCP, Sri L. Ramesh Kumar, ACP, and the Chikkadpally Police Station staff.
The investigation also received technical support from Hyderabad Metro authorities, whose assistance helped track the suspects movements post incident.
Police Statement
In an official statement, DCP Shilpavalli praised the police team for their prompt response and detailed investigation that led to the arrest and recovery of stolen property. She urged the public especially senior citizens, to remain cautious and report any suspicious persons near residential premises or lifts.

- Avoid wearing heavy gold jewellery when alone.
