CCS Special Crime Team, Hussaini Alam Police Nab Man with Illegal Country-Made Pistol in Hyderabad

Hyderabad police achieved a significant breakthrough on December 31, 2025, when the Special Crime Team of CCS, Detective Department, Hyderabad, in coordination with Hussaini Alam Police, apprehended a man for illegal possession of a country made firearm.

Acting on credible intelligence, the police team arrested Amjad Khan (29), a businessman operating in the Charminar area and a Saudi Arabia returnee. He is a resident of Khilwath, Hussaini Alam, Hyderabad.

Weapon Purchased for ₹80,000

According to police, Amjad Khan had illegally purchased a country made pistol (0.7 mm) around ten months ago. The weapon was procured from Avinash alias Kallu, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, through a mediator Amith, a resident of BHEL, Hyderabad, who is also originally from Madhya Pradesh. The accused reportedly paid ₹80,000 for the firearm.

Police revealed that the accused kept the pistol in his possession with the intention of threatening members of the general public by displaying the weapon.

Recovered Property

During the apprehension, police recovered:

  • One country made pistol (0.7 mm)
  • One mobile phone (OnePlus)

While Amjad Khan (A-1) has been arrested, the other accused Avinash and Amith are currently absconding and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.

Police Team and Supervision

The successful operation was carried out by Inspector D. Bikshapathi, Special Crime Team, along with his staff, under the supervision of ACP G. Venkateswar Reddy, CCS, Hyderabad, with active support from Hussaini Alam Police.

Police Advisory

Hyderabad City Police have issued a stern warning to anti-social elements, stating that strict surveillance is being maintained across the city. Persons in illegal possession of arms or weapons are advised to voluntarily surrender them at their nearest police station, failing which strict legal action will be taken.
