Family members of the Bondi Beach shooter living in Hyderabad have said they are Shocked and devastated by the deadly attack in Australia stating that they had cut all ties with him many years ago and were completely unaware of his activities or alleged extremist leanings.
Speaking to local authorities, relatives said the accused had left India decades ago and had minimal contact with the family since then. They claimed there had been no communication for several years, and the family had no knowledge of his personal life beliefs or movements abroad.
Family Denies Any Connection
The shooter’s relatives firmly denied any association with the crime stressing that they condemn the violence and extend their condolences to the victims families. They said the news came as a complete shock and brought immense distress to the family.
“We had no relationship with him for years. We are shocked and saddened by what has happened. We had no idea about his life in Australia” a family member told officials.
Indian police officials confirmed that the family in Hyderabad is not under suspicion and is cooperating fully with inquiries. Authorities reiterated that there is no evidence of local links or support from India connected to the attack.
Police Verification in Hyderabad
Following information shared by Australian authorities, Telangana Police conducted routine verification at the family’s residence in Hyderabad. Officials stated that the visit was part of standard procedure in international investigations and that no incriminating material was found.
Police sources added that the accused had no recent travel records to India and was not in touch with extended relatives or community members in Hyderabad.
