All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has announced that it will support the candidate of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar.
Party leaders said the decision was taken after internal discussions and consultations with local representatives. AIMIM stated that its support for the RJD nominee is aimed at strengthening opposition coordination in the state during the parliamentary election process.
The Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar are expected to be closely watched, with political parties working to secure the required numbers in the state legislative assembly to ensure the victory of their candidates.
Observers say such support from smaller parties can play a crucial role in tightly contested elections, especially when the outcome depends on the vote strength of legislators in the assembly.
AIMIM’s move is also seen as a strategic political decision as parties continue to explore alliances and tactical support to influence the composition of the upper house of Parliament.
The development highlights the ongoing political realignments in Bihar ahead of key parliamentary processes, with parties looking to consolidate support and strengthen their positions in national politics.
