Actor Abhay Deol recently shared that he has decided not to have children. In a conversation on the YouTube channel Jai Madaan Lady of Fortune, he said he might prefer adoption if he ever chose to settle down. His decision comes from a combination of personal considerations and broader concerns about population growth and environmental impact.
He said he feels the planet is already under pressure from an increasing population, and adding more to it doesn’t sit right with him. He worries that if he became a parent, he might become more controlling, protective, or possessive than he is now losing some of the easygoing nature he values.
Abhay also reflected on growing up in the Deol film family, recalling how from a young age there was public recognition because of his family name. He said that sometimes this brought unfair expectations and comparisons, but despite that, he’s carved a distinct path by choosing unconventional roles and being vocal about his beliefs.
