The Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairtabad Zone Team, in coordination with the Saifabad Police, arrested an absconding rowdy sheeter who had allegedly been living in disguise as a “Peer Baba” to evade arrest. Police also seized 115 grams of dry ganja during the operation.
The accused, identified as Mohd. Shaik Javed (33), is an OV Rowdy Sheeter of Lake Police Station. He had been absconding since June 5, 2025 and was wanted in connection with a murder case registered at Saifabad Police Station. A Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) had also been issued against him by the court.
According to police, Javed had been hiding in Sangareddy district, where he posed as a Peer Baba and worked as a priest at a dargah while concealing his identity. Acting on specific intelligence, the Task Force traced and apprehended him near Pool Bagh in Saifabad.
During the operation, police recovered 115 grams of dry ganja along with the religious attire allegedly used by the accused to avoid detection. During interrogation, he reportedly admitted that he had adopted the disguise to mislead law enforcement and evade arrest.
Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Inspector of Police P. Raghavender of the Khairtabad Zone Task Force, with the active participation of Task Force personnel and Saifabad Police.
