A special drive against food adulteration was carried out in the Mailardevpally area on Tuesday, leading to the seizure of substandard food items worth around ₹2 lakh.
The operation was conducted under the limits of Mailardevpally Police Station, where officials inspected several food manufacturing units involved in producing sweets, bakery products, snacks and other food items.
During the inspections, authorities found adulterated and low quality food products in multiple units. The seized items were recovered from four establishments Maruthi Foods in Kattedan, Indian Bakery and Sweets House, Krishna Food Products in Laxmiguda, and BS Food Products in Laxmiguda.
Officials have registered cases against the owners of these units under relevant laws. Further investigation is currently underway.
Police said such drives will continue to ensure food safety and protect public health in the area.
