A Society Without Old Age Homes Should Emerge: True Happiness Lies in Serving Parents – Hyderabad CP V.C. Sajjanar

A Society Without Old Age Homes Should Emerge

With a resolve to celebrate the New Year away from extravagance and with a spirit of service, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V.C. Sajjanar spent the day in a simple and meaningful manner. On the occasion of the New Year, he, along with senior police officials, visited an old age home and healthcare center run by the RK Foundation at Karkhana.

During the visit, fruits and sweets were distributed to 48 elderly residents staying at the facility. The Commissioner and police officials interacted warmly with them, enquired about their well-being, spent time sharing conversations, cut a cake, and conveyed New Year greetings to all.

About a month ago, senior film actress Pavala Shyamala, who was suffering from health issues, was admitted to the RK Foundation Healthcare Center due to the initiative taken by Tirumalagiri ACP Ramesh. Appreciating this humane gesture, CP Sajjanar specially congratulated ACP Ramesh on the occasion. He also met Pavala Shyamala personally, spoke to her affectionately, and enquired about her health condition.

Speaking on the occasion, CP Sajjanar praised Dr. Ramakrishna, the founder of the RK Foundation, for providing free medical services to nearly 15,000 people over the past 18 years and for taking elderly persons under his care.

The Commissioner emphasized that it is the responsibility of children to protect and care for their parents like the apple of their eye. He stated that citing modern lifestyles and work-related pressures as excuses to leave parents in old age homes is not appropriate.

He urged people not to forget the sacrifices made by parents in raising their children, reminding that in old age, parents do not seek wealth or property but only love and affection from their children. Expressing his hope for a society without old age homes, he called upon people to treat parents not as a burden but as a sacred responsibility and to revere them as divine.

The program was attended by North Zone DCP Rashmi Perumal, Additional DCP Ashok, Tirumalagiri ACP Ramesh, Karkhana Inspector Anuradha, and other officials.
