In a major anti drug operation, police seized methamphetamine worth approximately ₹63 lakh in Hyderabad’s Jeedimetla area and arrested two individuals in connection with the case.
According to officials, the arrests were made during a targeted operation based on specific intelligence inputs. The accused were allegedly involved in the illegal possession and distribution of narcotic substances in and around the city.
Police said the seized drugs were intended for supply within local networks, raising concerns about the growing spread of synthetic drugs in urban areas. The operation was carried out by a special team, which intercepted the suspects and recovered the contraband.
Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is underway to identify possible links to a wider drug network and to trace the source of the substance.
Officials reiterated their commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking and urged the public to report any suspicious activity.
